Responsible for coordinating operations of the accounting and finance functions. Provide oversight for financial transactional accuracy, analysis of account balances, assisting with tax compliance reports, and making recommendations for developing and improving accounting processes. Support Director of Finance to ensure accurate and timely financial results are fairly stated in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Coordinate and direct the daily activities in accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital assets, general ledger, foreign currency transactions, credit policies and collection activities, banking communications, and tax compliance.
Develop, analyze, and communicate accurate records that reflect financial condition of the Company’s cash management and reconciliations. Provide assistance for the financial reporting to management including balance sheet, profit and loss statements, capital spending, product family reporting, and variable margin analysis.
Coordinate the audit planning, required schedule preparation, and field work documentation with external audit and/or tax firms to ensure the annual Audited Financial Report is issued within 60 days of the year-end closing date.
Maintain thorough operational understanding of the JD Edwards financial system and its integration with other modules. Monitor data integrity to minimize errors.
Maintain documentation and key controls in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and other regulatory requirements as provided by Shareholder organizations.
Provide supervision, guidance, and training to team members as requested.
Support company requirements and analyses for taxes - sales and use, property, federal, and multiple state income and franchise tax filings.
Provide support for the US Conec budgeting process. Assist with preparing budget worksheets, analyzing data entered, uploading information to JD Edwards, and reporting budget to actual variances as requested.
Develop and communicate monthly financial closing activities and reporting including preparing, reviewing, and analyzing transactions and account reconciliations as required.
Assist Director of Finance with other tasks and projects as requested.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
BS/BA in Accounting from a recognized college or university preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered. CPA or CMA is a plus.
Three to five years prior experience in the accounting/financial/credit collections areas.
Ability to effectively direct, supervise, and monitor multiple people and activities.
Fluent in English both written and verbal.
Must be PC proficient and have experience with automated accounting systems. Proficiency in use of JDE OneWorld financials software a plus.
Proficiency in use of EXCEL spreadsheets; pivot tables experience a plus.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
