The Medical Society of Virginia is seeking a Vice President (VP) of Finance to lead and manage the fiscal functions of the organization including its non-profit and for-profit entities. As a member of the senior leadership team, the VP of Finance will work closely with the EVP and other senior staff as well as the board of directors of MSV and the MSV Insurance Agency in the development of the organization’s plans and programs. This role will also provide strategic financial leadership to the organization such as the evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, partnerships and/or mergers.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
10-15 years related experience
Demonstrated experience in non-profit (required) and for profit financial management (preferred)
Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in staff and systems
Insurance experience a plus
Experience should include audit, compliance, budget, resource development, contract and contract negotiation
