Alamo Group Inc. is currently recruiting for a Division Controllerfor the Agricultural Division at its corporate headquarters in Seguin, TX (25 miles East of San Antonio, TX).
The Agricultural Division Controller oversees the financial activities of a key (revenue over $200M), multi-unit global operating division. The Controller directs the preparation of reports which consolidates, summarizes and forecasts the divisions business activity and financial position in areas of income, expense and earnings based on post, present and expected operations; to include P&L, balance sheet, operating budgets, and key metrics (KPI's). Maintains a system of internal controls to protect the division and company assets.
Directs the preparation and consolidation of multiple operating entities' financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or other reports required by Alamo Group and regulatory agencies.
Develops and maintains internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures in order to ensure completion of accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
Oversees the preparation and distribution of reports that summarize division and operating unit performance including key metrics (KPI's).
Prepares and analyzes monthly financial reports for the division and submits an analysis of results or areas of needed improvement/focus.
Supports M&A activities at the division and corporate level by analyzing potential acquisitions or divestitures, participating in due diligence activities and leading/supporting business integration activities as needed.
Impacts operational performance by analyzing the division's financial performance and advises the EVP on actions to enhance results
Assists EVP with corporate/other activities as needed and provides information and reporting regarding the Division to the Corporate Controller and CFO in accordance with established policies and timing.
Assists the corporate accounting team with preparation of materials in support of internal and external audits as required.
Provides both leadership and support to Unit Company Controllers within the Division.
The Ideal Candidate will have/be:
Advanced knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data (Cost Accounting, GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial planning.
Working knowledge of today's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and financial analysis software.
Knowledge of financial audit and internal control strategies
Highly skilled and proficient with the use of personal computers; including financial spreadsheet analysis and mainstream office software; ability to author, design and deliver professional MS PowerPoint presentations a plus.
Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Able to identify and consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the most appropriate solution.
Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to formulate and deliver ideas and material in a clear and concise manner.
Able to effectively challenge the status quo across multiple entities (division and enterprise-wide).
Able to work irregular and/or long hours including weekends and holidays as financial reporting schedules dictate.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field is required. MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience in accounting is required; preferably in a publically traded manufacturing operation with at least 5 years as an operating unit controller.
